Mexican Chocolate Chunk Triangles

Ingredients

1 (15-oz) box white cake mix
1/2cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 (3-oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1 1/2teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4teaspoon cayenne pepper
2cups (12 oz) chocolate chunks or jumbo chips (like Nestlé)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or spray the bottom and sides of a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, place cake mix, butter, cream cheese and egg. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat 2 to 3 minutes, stopping once to scrape down the bowl. Add cinnamon, cayenne and chocolate chunks and beat to combine. Press dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Bake 15 to 18 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Let cool completely on a rack. Cut into triangles.
